FAQ
WHAT DO YOU REQUIRE TO PLAY AT MY EVENT?
I come fully equipped for your event, bringing my own harp, bench, and music stand. While I typically perform acoustically, I can utilize a microphone and PA system if provided by the venue or DJ. For outdoor events, I need a solid, level surface to set up on, along with adequate shade and contingency plans in case of inclement weather. I can navigate short staircases with my harp, provided that the ceiling height allows (approximately 7 feet).
WHAT MUSIC DO YOU NORMALLY PLAY?
I bring a diverse musical repertoire to my performances, rooted in classical training and encompassing a variety of harp solos, chamber music, and orchestral pieces. For more relaxed settings, I enjoy playing popular tunes, including timeless classics and contemporary radio hits. In my spare time, I love exploring themes from movies and video games that resonate with me. I customize my setlist for each event based on the client's preferences and the atmosphere they wish to create. For a detailed list of songs, please visit the "Music" tab on my website. If you have specific requests for your event, concert, or wedding, feel free to share them with me!
CAN YOU PLAY WITH ANOTHER MUSICIAN FOR MY EVENT?
Absolutely! I am delighted to collaborate as part of a duo or trio, often pairing with talented violinists and cellists. Please contact me for more details on pricing and availability for ensemble performances.
I WANT TO START HARP LESSONS. WHAT DO I NEED?
You don't need anything to get started! Simply reach out to me, and we can assist you in finding a harp to purchase or rent if you don't already have one. I'll guide you in selecting the appropriate books to begin your musical journey. Previous experience with other instruments or reading music is helpful but not necessary—I'm here to support you every step of the way as your teacher.
WHAT SETS YOU APART?
With 20 years of experience playing the harp and performing for events since the age of 10, music has been a lifelong passion for me. This extensive background has honed my intuitive musicianship, enabling me to confidently perform across diverse musical genres and settings. Beyond harp, I am also a skilled pianist and actively teach orchestra and choir.
In addition to my years of experience, I hold a bachelor's degree in harp performance and a master's in music education. These qualifications provide me with a solid pedagogical foundation and a deep understanding of music theory and practice.
As a public school elementary music teacher, collaboration, punctuality, organizational skills, and effective communication are integral to my daily work. These skills enhance my ability to adapt seamlessly to any performance situation.
On a personal note, I planned my own wedding in 2023 (complete with harp music, of course), so I understand firsthand the experience of being a bride today. It's the meticulous attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to savor each moment that truly bring a wedding together.
Finally, I take pride in my instrument, a 2016 Lyon & Healy Style 85 Concert Grand Pedal Harp, crafted by renowned harpmakers. Meticulously maintained with regular regulation and string changes, it ensures optimal performance quality. Continuously exploring new music, techniques, and technology allows me to deliver a confident and distinctive experience every time.
